Mercedes-Benz Scheduled Maintenance
It's very important for the life of your vehicle that you have it serviced according to its manufacturer’s regular maintenance schedules. This will help ensure your car performs at its peak, as well as help protect the resale value. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or feel free to ask us if your vehicle is due for scheduled maintenance.
A Service
Required after one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, then again every two years or 20,000 miles. Here is a listing of the services performed.
- Inspect and record tread depth, correct tire air pressures
- Rotate tires (excludes AMG, sports models, SLK, vehicles with staggered wheels)
- Replace engine oil with Mobil 1 synthetic oil, filter replacement
- Lubrication service: hood hinges, lock cylinders, striker plates, sun roof tracks, top off all fluids
- Cooling system inspection: antifreeze level, hoses, clamps
- Brake inspection: pad thickness, condition of discs, fluids, lines
- Inspect heating and ventilation dust filter, replace if needed (replacement costs vary by model)
- Function check: warning lamps, headlights, exterior lights, seat belts, windshield wiper, washer
- Inspect and lubricate throttle linkage
- Check all filters
- Reset flexible service system counter
B Service
Required after one year after A Service or 10,000 miles, then again every two years or 20,000 miles. Here is a listing of the services performed.
- Check for leakage of major components
- Replace engine oil with Mobil 1 synthetic oil, filter replacement
- Check and correct fluid levels
- Inspect engine cooling system, anti-freeze, corrosion protection
- Inspect brake system
- Inspect windshield washer
- Inspect power steering system
- Top off fluid level of window washer system
- Check wiper blades
- Check condition of poly V-belt
- Inspect throttle linkage, check function and condition
- Check engine hood and safety catch
- Check battery acid level & replenish
- Check battery using "Midtronics" tester
- Inspect horn, headlamp flasher, hazard flashers, turn signals
- Inspect warning/indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting
- Inspect exterior lighting including headlamps
- Inspect headlamp range adjustment system (does not apply to xenon headlamps)
- Inspect bulbs as necessary: headlamps, fog lights and brake lights
- Inspect headlamp setting, adjust to correct setting
- Inspect windshield wipers, rear window wiper, windshield washer system
- Inspect headlamp cleaning system
- Check seat belts for damage and correct function
- Reset FSS counter in instrument cluster
- Inspect wiper blade for front/rear window
- Check body for paint damage
- Check chassis and supporting body parts for damage and corrosion
- Check level control if equipped
- Inspect wheels, rotate if necessary
- Check thickness of brake pads
- Check condition of brake discs
- Check brake pads for lining thickness front/rear
- Check condition of brake discs front and rear
- Check parking brake (function test only)
- Correct tire inflation pressure
- Inspect tires for damage and condition
- Measure tread depth
- Check play in front and rear wheel bearings
- Check condition of front axle ball joints
- Check condition of steering mechanical components
- Inspect play of tie rod and drag link joints
- Inspect rubber boots for damage or wear
- Inspect exhaust system and hangers for damage or leaks
- Check for damaged/worn drive train parts
- Check for excessive axle joint play
- Correct tire inflation pressure in spare tire
